Garbush, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur (Golden - 1949)

The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garbush was celebrated Friday, November 4, 1949, at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Garbush.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garbush have spent their entire lives in Clark County. Mr. Garbush was the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Garbush, and was born in the Town of Grant, May 11, 1876. He received his education there; worked in his early years in lumbering; later became a farmer.

Mrs. Garbush was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jensen. She was born in the Town of Lynn October 5, 1880. She received her education in the local school. They were married in 1899 by the Rev. Thom, Lutheran pastor of Marshfield.

The Garbushes have two children - Mrs. Edwin Barth, Town of Fremont, now on a vacation in the west, and Lee, Town of Lynn. The Lee Garbushes have one child, Carol Garbush. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Garbush also raised a foster son, Albert Masephol.

Guests at the anniversary celebration were Mrs. Mary Kleinschmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kleinschmidt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kleinschmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensen, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Masephol, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Steinbach and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Voelker, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Guk, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Neinas, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rotherberger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wolf, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Swenson and Gene, Mrs. Mabel Tober and sons.

The Lee Garbush home was tastefully decorated, and there was a splendid wedding cake.

The supper was prepared by Mrs. Sophia Martens of Greenwood, and was served by Miss Mabel Ann Martens.
