Davis, Truman (Golden Anniversary - 1948)

When Mr. and Mrs. Truman Davis celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last Tuesday, October 12, (1948), their daughter, Mrs. Charles Hubing of Neillsville, was hostess at a dinner party in their home.

Guests included, besides the guests of honor, Mr. and Mrs. Lon Hayden of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Hale Davis of Bloomer (Mr. Davis is a brother of the groom); Artice Hubing of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hayden, Ruby Anthony, Price Lee, John Pietenpol and daughter, Ruth, and Eldred Davis (a son of the honored couple), all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Hubing, Frank Davis, brother of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Art Hubing and son, Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacob of Neillsville.

Special guests were the Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Longenecker. Rev. Mr. Longenecker is the minister who performed the wedding ceremony 50 years ago.

The tables were decorated with white gladioli and gold chrysanthemums, and with gold and white streamers. A tiered wedding cake was made for the occasion by Mrs. Art Hubing, daughter of the anniversary couple. It was trimmed with a gold wedding bell and golden wedding rings, and candles.

After the dinner open house was held in the Truman Davis home in Granton. About 50 guests paid their respects and offered felicitations.
