Allen, Patricia (Marriage - 24 August 1948)

In a small, informal service in the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Degner, Miss Patricia Allen of Neillsville, daughter of Lucius A. Allen of Bremerton, Wash., became the bride of William Rodney Musil, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Musil, Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. P. B. White, district superintendent of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated at the single ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Sheldon A. Allen, Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Chicago. She wore a floor length gown of white moiré, fashioned with a yoke and an overskirt of white nylon tulle, with ruching of the tulle around the round neckline, which was further outlined, which was further outlined in seed pearls. Her shoulder length veil of white nylon tulle fell from a Juliette cap. She carried a bouquet of garden flowers which were a gift from Mrs. Richard Albrecht, and a white Bible, decorated with white satin streamers into which pansies had been knotted. The Bible was her "something borrowed" and was lent by Mrs. C. A. Hageman of Belleville.

The maid-of-honor was Miss Ruth Marie Gregory, roommate of the bride, from Colfax. She wore a gown of pale blue faille.

Richard H. Van Gorden served as best man. Piano music was provided by the bride’s sister, Mrs. Allen Randall, who played the wedding march from Wagner’s "Lohengrin".

After the wedding a small reception was held. A tiered wedding cake, which had been made by the groom’s sister, Miss Marjorie Musil, centered the table. The young couple left for a wedding trip to a cottage at Lake Wissota. After August 30 they will be at home at 14 South Lake Street, Madison, where the groom is matriculating in the School of Medicine, University of Wisconsin.

The guests included Mr. and Mrs. James A. Musil, Miss Marjorie Musil, Miss Janice Musil, the Charles A. Musils, the D. H. Crothers, all of Neillsville; the W. H. Crothers of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peters, Mr. and Mrs. Len Emerson, Miss Dorothy Hagen, Miss Marion Prellwitz, Miss Lorraine Blank, Miss Natalie Creaser, Miss Dorothy Wente and Miss Shirley Lalan, all of Eau Claire; and Rev. and Mrs. P. B. White of La Crosse.

The groom graduated from Neillsville High School in 1944, and entered the University of Wisconsin. His college work was interrupted by service in the navy during the war. He is now studying medicine at the University of Wisconsin, where he is a member of Phi Chi, honorary medical fraternity.

The bride also graduated from Neillsville High School in 1944, after which she attended Eau Claire State Teachers’ College for one year, and graduated from Luther Hospital School of Nursing this year.
