Koehler, Karl (26 January 1884 - 3 May 1948)

Prof. Karl Koehler died early Monday morning, May 3 (1948) at the age of 63. He had been stricken three weeks previously and had been taken to the Neillsville Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock, Thursday, May 6, at the Koehler home, the Rev. Otto Kehrberg officiating. Interment will take place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Prof. Koehler was born in Two Rivers, Wis., January 26, 1884. He was the son of Prof. J. Ph. Koehler and his wife Amalia, nee Rohlfing. He was educated at Northwestern College at Watertown, and later taught there. He studied at the Lutheran seminaries at Wauwatosa, Wis., and St. Louis, Mo. He became a resident of Neillsville 19 years ago, and for the past 19 years has been editor of the religious periodical, "Faith Life."

Prof. Koehler resided here at the family home on East First Street, which he shared with his father, J. Ph. Koehler, and his sister Ada, both of whom survive him. Also surviving are a brother, Kurt of Rock Island, Ill., and three sisters, Elsa, Mrs. O. Hohenstein of Glendale, Arizona; Frieda, Mrs. Arnold Sitz of Tucson, Arizona; and Irene of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
