Kalsow, Evelyn (Marriage - 21 April 1946)

Miss Evelyn Kalsow daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kalsow, Neillsville, and Walter Grottke, son of Mrs. Anna Grottke, Neillsville, were married Sunday, April 21, at 4 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wm. A. Baumann officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

A miniature bride and groom, Gerry and Ann Marie Sternitzky, as flower girl and ring bearer, preceded the bride into the church. The bride wore a white taffeta gown with a net overskirt. She wore a floor length veil with a lace edge. Her bridal bouquet was white carnations and pink roses.

Miss Luella Christ of Birnamwood, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor. The bride’s niece Lolita Kloff of Milwaukee, and Nancy Kalsow of Menomonee Falls, were the bridesmaids. The groom’s attendant was his brother, Herbert Grottke.

Gracie Baumann sang "Take Thou My Hands and Lead Me," accompanied by Herbert Jaster at the organ.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the groom’s mother. About 75 guests were present.

After a week’s wedding trip the couple will make their home in Neillsville, in the apartment above the Neillsville Dairy.

Mrs. Grottke is a graduate of the Neillsville High School with the class of 1941, and has been employed as bookkeeper at the Neillsville Dairy, which is owned by Mr. Grottke.

Guests from out-of-town who attended the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kloff and daughter of Milwaukee; Victor Kalsow and family of Menomonee Falls; Alma Grottke of Milwaukee; William Grottke and family of Sauk City.
