Hoeft, Rudolph (19 NOV 1856 - 12 FEB 1934)

HOLTON PIONEER DIES MONDAY

Rudolph Hoeft, aged 77 years, 2 months, and 23 days, died at his home three miles west of Milan in the town of Holton, Monday evening, Feb. 12, 1934, cause of death - complications.

The deceased was born in Sch(?)demuhl, Germany, and came to this country and settled in Wisconsin in 1883. In March 1884, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Westphal, Town of Holton, who preceded him in death in 1895.

He leaves to mourn his death two sons, Albert and Earnest at home, two daughters, Mrs. Otto Denzin and Mrs. Leo Denzin, town of Holton, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

By his hard labor he cleared a farm out of the wilderness. He was a good neighbor, ever ready to help others whenever possible.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home, the Rev. J. Brandt of Dorchester officiating. Interment was made in the Town of Holton cemetery.
