Hunt, Alfred Dewitt (20 Dec. 1870 - 5 Mar. 1956)

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zink Funeral Home in Abbotsford for Alfred Dewitt Hunt who died early Monday morning at the Bethel Convalescent Home at Arpin at the age of 85 years. Rev. Victor Grosshuesch, pastor of the First Evangelical and Reformed church at Colby, will officiate and burial will be made in the Dorchester cemetery.

Mr. Hunt was born in New York on December 20, 1870. He received his education in Dorchester where he was married to Ida Wibchell in April, 1894. He was a former school teacher and a rural mail carrier at Dorchester for many years before moving to Abbotsford, Wis.

He is survived by one son and five daughters - Frank Hunt of Colby, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Douglas of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mrs. Lester (Irma) Loppnow of Thiensville, Mrs. W. M. (Hazel) Kleckner and Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Hinke of Abbotsford and Mrs. Gust (Mina) Schroeder of Tomahawk; one brother, Louis Hunt of Indianapolis, Ind.; 15 grand children and 14 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his wife on September 13, 1945, by an infant son, Lloyd, in June, 1903, by a daughter, Mrs. William (Mabel) Zurn, in 1930, one brother, Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Inskeep.
