Schweiger, Ferdinand (16 NOV 1863 - 18 SEP 1947)

Funeral services for Ferdinand Schweiger, 83, of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), were held Monday morning at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal, conducted by the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Mr. Schweiger died Thursday afternoon at his home in Loyal. A rosary service was held Saturday evening at the Loyal Funeral Home.

Mr. Schweiger was born Nov. 16, 1863, at Jefferson, where he grew to manhood and received his education. On Nov. 27, 1883, he was married at Jefferson to Anna Windl, who died Sept. 14, 1946. They lived on a farm near Globe, Clark County, until 1902, when they moved onto a farm near Loyal. In 1930 he retired and moved to his present home.

Surviving are five children: Bertha, Mrs. Frank Rueth; Belle, Mrs. Charles Wehling; Marcella, Mrs. George Schellinger; and John Schweiger, all of Loyal; and Hilda, Mrs. Charles Ley of Chili. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John Hammes of Jefferson; and three brothers, Louis of Loyal, Albert of Milwaukee and Adam of LaFayette, Ore.

Mr. Schweiger was one of a family of 19 children.
