Hoffmann, Shirley (Marriage - 23 June 1956)

Miss Shirley Hoffmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffmann, and Richard Jakel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jakel, were united in marriage in Sacred Heart church at Stetsonville Saturday, June 23, Father Weber reading the marriage ceremony. Eileen Hoffmann was maid of honor and Mrs. Richard Jerabek and Mrs. Robert Hilmer were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Thomas Jakel, Richard Jerabek and Robert Hilmer. Carol Hoffmann served as flower girl and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Bruce Hoffmann was ring bearer.

The bride was attired in a full length net gown with lace over satin, long tapered sleeves and lace bodice. Her fingertip veil was held in place with sequins and pearls. Her bouquet consisted of red roses and white stephanotis. The maid of honor wore a yellow gown of net over taffeta with matching lace and jacket over the strapless gown. The bridesmaids wore gowns identically styled as the maid of honor’s of aqua net over taffeta. The headpieces of all three consisted of pink and white carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and a wedding dance was held at the Kolby Park Pavilion.

After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls and the Eastern U.S., the couple will be at home in Milwaukee where the groom is employed by Cutler Hammer, Inc.

The 200 guests present were from Colby, Abbotsford, Stetsonville, Medford, Owen, Janesville, Dorchester, River Falls, Antigo, Milwaukee, Stratford, Marshfield, Oshkosh, Riverside, Minneapolis, Minn., and Chicago, Ill.
