Counsell, Minnie #2 (4 AUG 1869 - 21 FEB 1904)

Mrs. Minnie Heaslett Counsell died at the home in Chili (Clark Co., Wis.) Sunday, Feb. 21st, 1904, following the birth of a child on Friday, the child dying Saturday. She leaves the husband, O. E. Counsell, and a little son of three years.

She was born Minnie Heaslett in this city (Neillsville, Clark Co.), Aug. 4, 1869, the daughter of Wm. Heaslett, and the first Mrs. Heaslett. When 10 or 12 years old she went to live with C. A. Youman’s family, and made her home with them for many years, giving special care to the children when small, and going with them to the Pleasant Ridge farm, where she met and later married Mr. Counsell, who afterwards leased the farm and ran it several years. Later years he engaged in business in Chili and traded his business for a farm near there, where she died.

The funeral services were held at the house yesterday forenoon, the remains being accompanied here on the 11:18 train, the procession moving from the depot directly to the cemetery, where she was buried at the side of her mother.

She was always a frail, sunny and trusting child and woman, helpful to all about her, and throughout her all too brief life scattered sunshine and helped to make the world better. Everyone loved her.
