Matthias of Curtiss. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Jewell in the Methodist Episcopal church at Elroy. Decorations for the occasion were gladiolas, ferns and baby’s breath.

Miss Lorna and Ruth Baumgarten, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor, and the bridesmaids were Miss Hazel Warden, Mrs. McCoy Wallace, Elroy; Mrs. Herman Freudenthal, Milwaukee; Mrs. John Nichols, Lake Geneva; Mrs. John Olson, Whitewater, and Miss Gleneta Williams, Edgerton. Carol Ann Wallace served as flower girl and Dolores Leist and Rosemary Marsh as train bearers.

Carl Matthias, brother of the groom, was best man and the ushers were Harold E. Matthias, another brother of the groom, Butternut; John Nichols, Lake Geneva; Robt. Buehler, Baraboo; Edward Moran, McCoy Wallace, Elroy, and Herman Freudenthal, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The bride’s gown was of ivory satin. She wore a long veil and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and forget me nots. After the ceremony a reception was held in the church, followed by luncheon served at the Masonic hall. Covers were laid for 80. Out of town guests included the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Matthias of Curtiss.

Mr. and Mrs. Matthias left on a month’s honeymoon trip to New York and the New England states, and after September 10, will make their home in Madison where the groom is instructor in the college of Engineering in the University of Wisconsin.
