Friske, Florence #4 (20 JUN 1942)

At a wedding ceremony taking place at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, Miss Florence Friske, Greenwood, daughter of Mrs., Otto Friske of Rochester, Minn., became the bride of Hershel Edwards, Stevens Point, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Edwards of Owen. The ceremony was performed in Trinity Lutheran church, Loyal, by the Rev. J. C. Langholz.

Attending as matron of honor was Mrs. Milton Sebastian of Milwaukee, a sister of the bride. Milton Sebastian served as best man. Other attendants were a brother-in-law and sister of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Molle, Unity.

The bride appeared in white mousseline de sole and lace, with a long train. Her necklace of seed pearls was a gift from the groom. She wore a crown of seed pearls, from which fell a lace-edged, finger-tip veil. Her bouquet was of talisman roses and baby’s breath.

The matron of honor wore lace-trimmed blue ninon with pink headdress and veil. Mrs. Molle was gowned in ace-trimmed pink ninon, with blue headdress and veil. Both carried bouquets of pink and white carnations.

Mrs. George Jensen played the beautiful strains from Lohengrin as the bridal party entered and Cowan’s "Bridal Chorus" as they retired. During the ceremony Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Leonard Noeldner sang "I Love You Truly" and "I Must Have My Savior With Me."

Following the ceremony a dinner was served in the church parlors to 50 relatives and friends. As the lovely baskets of peonies, roses and orange blossoms gave added beauty to the church service, so the streamers of blue, pink and white, the white wedding bell, and the three-tiered wedding cake gave festive wedding air to the church parlors.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Friske and a wedding dance was given at Longwood.

The bride graduated from Greenwood high school with the class of 1930, and completed a commercial course at the Wausau Business Institute in 1932. She has been employed as bookkeeper for the John Wuethrich Creamery Co. for the past nine years.

The groom is a salesman for the Bake-Rite Bakery, Stevens Point.

The couple will take a short trip and be at home after June 29 at 531 Strongs avenue, Stevens Point.
