Page, Marian (19 JAN 1944)

The following news item appeared in last week’s issue of the Sauk County News, at Prairie du Sac, and it is of interest to Owen people as Miss Marian Page was a graduate of the Owen high school, and made her home here for four years with Mrs. Clara B. Weirich, while attending the Owen schools.

Miss Marian Page, daughter of Mrs. Mary Page, became the bride of Tech. Sgt. Dallas Vaughn, of Vago, West Virginia, at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Clara Weirich, on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 19, at 3 o’clock in the presence of the immediate family. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. C. A. Bender. A solo "I Love You Truly" was sung by Mrs. Charles Gruber.

The bride was attired in a navy blue and white crepe dress and wore a white hat with navy veil. Her shoulder corsage was an orchid. The bride’s oldest sister, Helen, who was her only attendant, wore a soldier blue crepe dress and a gardenia as a shoulder corsage.

The groom was attended by the bride’s oldest brother, Alfred Page, who wore a brown suit.

The bride’s mother wore a navy blue print dress and wore a gardenia. The bride’s aunt wore a aqua blue crepe dress and wore a gardenia.

The groom, who has been stationed in England since May as a radio operator on a Flying Fortress, completed his tour of operations and will report at Miami, Florida, February 4.

The bride has been employed at the Wis. Biological Supply Co. at Madison for the past two years. After making a trip to West Virginia to visit his people, they plan to go to Florida.

A wedding dinner was served immediately after the ceremony. Guests were Mrs. Mary Page and family, Mrs. Dora Von Wald, Mrs. Charles Gruber and Rev. and Mrs. Bender.

A reception and shower for 50 relatives and friends was held at the Conrad Schoephorstar home in the evening.
