Lyman, Bertha A. (27 Feb 1859 - 4 Feb. 1945)

W. J. Marsh of Neillsville has received word of the death of Mrs. Bertha A. Lyman at Boise, Idaho. She was the widow of the late Dr. W. B. Lyman, who was a physician in Neillsville many years ago. The Lymans moved from Neillsville, Wis. when Dr. Lyman was appointed head of a state institution. Afterward he located and practiced in Eau Claire, and then finally went to Boise, Idaho, where he practiced for years and finally died.

Mrs. Lyman was a woman of great intelligence, and a leader in club work. In 1926 she was chosen Idaho’s representative to the Golden Jubilee of the General Federation of Women’s clubs, held at Atlantic City. This honor went to her as the club member with the longest record in Idaho for continuous service. She had joined the Boise Columbian club in 1905, and was its president from 1919 to 1921. She was also state vice president and at various times chairman of several special groups. She was at one time treasurer of the state club organization.

Mrs. Lyman was a member of the Presbyterian church. She leaves two sons, both residing in Boise. They are Walter K. Lyman and Dr. Irving R. Lyman.
