June A. Paulson

GRANTON -- June A. Paulson, 78, of Granton, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. Keith Lundberg will officiate. Marge Dahl will provide music for congregational singing. Interment will be in the church cemetery, with Mrs. Paulson's granddaughters serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Hansen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

June was born June 11, 1929, in Frost, Minn., a daughter of Andy and Vollie (Bjelland) Engelby. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Liberty Lutheran Church in Rake, Iowa. June graduated from high school in Lake Mills, Iowa, with the class of 1947.

On Dec. 28, 1947, June was united in marriage to Arnold D. Paulson at the Winnebago Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, Iowa.

The couple farmed in Iowa and Wisconsin from 1947 to 1969, when they moved to Arizona where Mrs. Paulson worked as a secretary at two different offices. On returning to Wisconsin, she worked at Manville Corp. from 1985 to 1991 and for Dr. F.W. Fornefelt, O.D., from 1992 to 1997, when she retired.

June is survived by four children, Ardith (James) Martindale, Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald (Dyann) Paulson, Granton, Dennis (Kari) Paulson, Seymour, and Ronald Paulson, Springerville, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Bethany (James) VerKilen, Melony (Douglas) Becker, Christopher (Michelle) Paulson and Brittani Paulson; six great-grandchildren, Elicia (Daniel) Seliskar, Rachel, Olivia and Emily VerKilen, Sonya and Amber Becker; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Trevor Seliskar.

One brother, Vincent (Kathryn) Engelby, Albert Lee, Minn., and many nieces and nephews further survive Mrs. Paulson.

In addition to her husband and parents, three brothers, Irvin, Alvin and Eugene, and two sisters, Caroline and Myrtle, preceded June in death.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in June's memory are encouraged to do so to the Marshfield Area Foundation for Cancer Research.
