Waichules, Charlotte (6 JUN 1946)

On June 6, 1946 a very pretty wedding was held at the St. Hedwig’s Church when Miss Charlotte Waichules, daughter of Mrs. Bernice Waichules, became the bride of Sgt. Frank P. Urbanik, son of Mrs. Anna Urbanik of Akron, Ohio, Rev. Father Francis Piekarski performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given away by her step-brother, Frank Swarga, was attired in a gown of white brocaded taffeta, with fitted, ruffled bodice trimmed in lace. The long sleeves came to appoint at the wrist. The flared skirt ended in a long train. Her lovely, long three heart veil was held in place by a crown of beaded lovebirds. Her only jewelry was a gold heart shaped necklace, a gift of the groom. Her bouquet was of white gardenias, gladiolas and sweet peas, tied to streamers.

The flower girl was Miss Jeanne Swarga, who looked lovely in a pink taffeta gown and carried a basket of a mixture of lowers with rose buds tied to streamers.

The maid of honor was Miss Felicia Frankckiewicz, a girl friend of the bride, she wore a white net over satin gown.

The other bridesmaids were Agnes Mroz, in pink net skirt with taffeta bodice, Jane Siudak, in aqua net over satin; Loretta Burzynski, in white net over satin; Lottie Luzinski, in yellow net over satin. They all wore heart shaped necklaces and flowers and blusher in their hair to match their dress, and carried bouquets of white pink and yellow carnations.

Raymond Slipek, brother of the bride, was best man, dressed in dark brown suit. Bill Wojtkiewicz, Joe Waichules and Irwin Kostick were the other ushers. They wore dark suits with white carnation boutonniere. The groom was dressed in his Army Air Corps uniform.

The reception was held all afternoon and evening at the P.N.A. Hall, where dinner and supper were served and dancing commenced. Music was furnished by Ted Wirth and Orchestra.

The groom has returned to Grenier Field, New Hampshire, where he is occupied by the Army Air Corps at present. His bride will remain at her mother’s home for an indefinite time.

Out of town guests attending were: Mrs. Anna Urbanik and son Eddie, and Mrs. Chester Maneshy, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Walter Urbanik of Detroit, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. F. Swarga and son Frank and daughter Jeanne, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Waichules, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Waichules and son, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Waichules and daughter Bonnie, Mr. and Mrs. William Kuzera, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Slipek and Miss Clara Waichules, all of Chicago.
