Danielewicz, Joseph (5 MAR 1859 - 17 APR 1946)

Joseph Danielewicz, an aged retired farmer, passed away at his home in the town of Mead (Clark Co., Wis.), Wednesday, April 17th, 1946. Death was due to a heart ailment, complicated by asthma, with which he had been suffering for some time. He had reached the age of 87 years, 1 month and 12 days.

Mr. Danielewicz, early in the afternoon, had walked to the neighbor woods where wood cutters were working. He had evidently tired out and sat down to rest. His body was found by John Keller, a neighbor, about 7:00 o’clock that day and it is though that death occurred about 3:00.

The deceased was born in Poland on March 5, 1859, and was married there 51 years ago. After he and his wife came to the United States in 1911 they resided in Chicago until they moved to Thorp about 28 years ago and settled on a farm in the town of Mead.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. Katherine Danielewicz, six sons, Stanley, John, Joseph of Chicago, Chester, Steve and Zigmond; three daughters, (Mary) Mrs. Joseph Dombrowski, (Helen) Mrs. Tom Sokolowski, (Virginia) Mrs. Stanley Pietrzak, of Chicago, nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One son, Felix, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon and the funeral mass was sung on Monday morning at 9:00 o’clock.

Interment was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Wm. Brzezinski, John Keller, Delbert Burss, George Haas, Matt Keller and Mike Heiser.
