St. Hedwig’s Church was the scene of a lovely wedding Saturday, June 23, 1945, when Father Piekarski united in marriage Miss Adeline Bartoszewski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casimir Bartoszewski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and John Staron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Staron of Thorp, at a nine o’clock mass, Father Kamla officiating.

The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father, looked lovely in a white gown with a fitted satin bodice of a beaded design and a sweetheart neckline and a long trained, full-net skirt. A seed pearl crown adorned here head, from which fell a fingertip veil. Her bouquet consisted of white orchids surrounded by gardenias and white carnations, from which hung white streamers. Her jewelry was a platinum cross necklace, a gift of the groom. She present a large bouquet of white peonies on the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary, after the ceremony.

Miss Frances Staron was chosen by the bride as maid of honor. She was attired in a blue formal fashioned with a fitted faille taffeta bodice and full net skirt with a matching headdress. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carnations.

Leona Tyminski, niece of the bride, the flower girl wore a formal identical to that of the maid of honor. She wore a blue bonnet effect headpiece and carried a French basket of flowers.

The bridesmaids were Misses Ruth Smoczyk, Virginia Gorz and Helen Grott. Their formals and headdress, in pink, were styled as the maid of honor’s. They carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. The bride presented her attendants with a string of pearls.

The groom wore a tuxedo with a gardenia boutonniere. Adam Staron acted as best man, with Vincent Slowiak and Alfred Bartoszewski also attending. They wore tuxedos with white carnations in their lapels.

The bride’s mother wore a two-piece navy blue dress. They both had corsages of roses and carnations.

A wedding dinner and supper were served to a host of relatives and friends at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp. The Nightingales furnished the music.

The newlyweds left for Chicago via the "400", Monday, where the groom is to report for induction in the services June 28.

Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bartoszewski and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Bartoszewski, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Tyminski and family, Mrs. Grott, Mrs. Wozniak and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ciolkosz and children, all of Chicago.
