Lt. Col. Marvin A. Thorson, son of Harry Thorson, Withee, has received the second highest military award from Minnesota.  The "Medal of Merit" was presented to him during ceremonies at the Wold-Chamberlain Airport at Minneapolis.  Lt. Co., Thorson has served since 1952 as commander of the Minneapolis 109th air-transport squadron.  He has now been appointed deputy commander for material.
