The couple lived in the Chicago area where Edward was employed as a diesel truck mechanic for Consolidated Freightways until the time of his retirement. Edward also volunteered on the Pleasantdale Fire Department and later served as Fire Commissioner. Upon retirement the couple moved to a lake home in Holcombe.
