Plunkett, Harry Haligan (4 April 1930 - 16 April 2008)

Harry H. Plunkett

GREENWOOD -- Harry Haligan Plunkett, 78, of Greenwood, died April 16, 2008, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenwood. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Full military rites will be performed by Wallis Hinker Post 238.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harry was born April 4, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to Harry Sr. and Frances (Evangelista) Plunkett. He entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He married Dolores Moon in 1953. He worked as an electrician for AO Smith in Milwaukee until his retirement. He returned to the Greenwood area in 1997.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Dolores; his children, Mary Evangelista, Germantown, Ellen (Lewis) Ingram, Louisville, Ky., Kathleen Payne, Milwaukee, Joseph (Linda) Plunkett, Louisville, Ky., Alice Van Slett, Pewaukee, Laura Sauer, Milwaukee, and John (Francine) Plunkett, West Allis; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joseph (Pat) Plunkett, Minnesota, George (Marlene) Plunkett, Long Lake, Timothy (Jean) Plunkett, Warrens, and Alican McCarty, La Crosse.
