Bailey, Ruth (Marriage - 08 MAR 1942)

In a military setting Miss Ruth Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bailey of Hartsborne, Okla., became the bride of Corporal Harry A. Craig Jr., Sunday, March 8, at 9:00 p.m. in the 22nd Regimental Chapel at Camp Gordon, Augusta, Ga.

The sacred vows were read by Chaplain Charles Carlson before an altar banked with gladioli and candles shedding a soft light.

The bride wore a navy blue frock with black accessories and her shoulder corsage was of pink rosebuds. She was given in marriage by Lieutenant Lewis Ressijac, commanding officer of the groom. Mrs. Jack Morey and Mrs. Milton Crippin were attendants for the bride and Lieutenant Harold Sampson acted as best man.

During the ceremony, soft music was played on the organ by Sergeant Frederick Hawkridge and before the vows were read Private Walter Leon sang, O Promise Me.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Craig Sr. of Owen, and the bride is a graduate of the Harleyville high school of the class of 1940.

After a three-day honeymoon in Augusta, Ga., they are making their home there for the present.
