Fisher, Matilda (20 Aug. 1859 - 5 Jan. 1930)

Matilda Fisher passed away at 11:00 A.M. Sunday, Jan. 5th at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. M. Olsen, 632 Homer St., Milwaukee, Wis. She had been ill only one day after a serious heart attack.

Matilda Bellinger was born in the town of Eden, Fond du Lac County, Wis., on Aug. 20, 1859, being 70 years, 4 months and 15 days old at the time of her death.

She was married to Mr. Fisher Dec. 28, 1881, at Fond du Lac, Wis. where they lived until moving to Abbotsford with their family in June, 1899.

Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1914. Since then she has spent the greater share of her time in Abbotsford, with the exception of the past few years she has spent the winter months with her children at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Selling her home in Abbotsford on July 1, 1929, she moved to Milwaukee to live with her daughter, where she was at the time of her death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Turney and Mrs. Chas. Olsen and one son, Frank, all of Milwaukee, and one sister, Mrs. Bert Collins of Toledo, Ohio. The children were all at her bedside at the time of her death.

The remains were brought to Abbotsford Wednesday morning and funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at 10 o’clock, Rev. M. C. Durnam officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tourney, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fisher and daughter, Beatrice, and Mrs. J. Grimes of Milwaukee were in Abbotsford to attend the funeral services.

A large number of friends and neighbors gathered at the church to pay their last respects to the departed, in a way showing the high esteem in which this good lady was held in and around Abbotsford, Wis.
