Mrs. Joe Moore Wins Whippet

The Abbotsford Merchants Trade Expansion Contest that has been running in Abbotsford the past eight weeks came to a close Saturday night. The campaign created quite an interest not only in Abbotsford but in the whole surrounding community.

There were about one hundred contestants at the start, but after a week or so, several dropped out and the rest got busy and piled up the votes, trying to reach first place to win the Whippet car.

The last two days, Friday and Saturday, were busy days for the remaining contestants. Mrs. Joe Moore was in twenty-fourth place Wednesday but kept climbing until when the final votes were counted it was found she had won the car. Audrey LeClaire held second place, and won the $300 phonograph. Audrey Anderson dropped from first to third place and won the $175 diamond ring. Mrs. Adelaide Simerson won the $150 radio in fourth place. Mrs. Albert Leu came from eighth to fifth place and won the $100 wrist watch. Mrs. E. Kuehnast in sixth place won the $50 ring. Irene Notbohm won the $40 diamond brooch, Mrs. J. B. Thompson the $20 pearl necklace and Mrs. Rene Gibson the $15 Parisan compact.
