Beyer, Julia A. (19 Apr. 1875 - 27 Oct. 1956)

Funeral services were held at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, Wisconsin, for Mrs. Martin Beyer, 81, Unity, Wisconsin who died Saturday at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen. The Rev. Father Orlowski officiated and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby until time of the funeral.

The former Julia A. Winkler was born April 19, 1875 in Germany, and came to the United States with her parents in 1879. They settled south of Unity on the farm where Mrs. Beyer spent the rest of her life with the exception of a year in Stevens Point, four in Colby and the last few months.

She suffered a stroke in June and was admitted to the nursing home August 4.

Survivors include her husband, Martin, whom she married February 5, 1894, at Stevens Point; three children, Mrs. Julia Justman, Minneapolis; Mrs. Geo. (Barbara) Speich, Greenwood; and John at home; two brothers, Joseph Winkler, Marshfield, and John Winkler, Redondo, Calif.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, Ed and a sister, Rose, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beyer was a member of the Colby Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society.
