Ringquist, Garnett (Marriage - 7 Aug. 1954)

Miss Garnett Ringquist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ringquist, Spencer and Harland Lee Powers, son of Mrs. Roy S. Powers, Baraboo, were united in marriage during a 4 o’clock service Saturday afternoon, August 7 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiated.

The taffeta skirt of the white bridal gown was covered by six tiers of net and complimenting the bride’s ensemble were a half veil and a bouquet of white and pink gladioli and roses.

Her matron of honor, Mrs. Harry Hornick, Arlington, sister of the groom; her bridesmaid, Miss Maralene Danner, Unity; and her flower girl, Ardell Ringquist, Spencer, all wore yellow waltz length formals with tiers of net over taffeta and held bouquets of white mums and pink roses.

Earl Powers, Baraboo, performed best man duties for his brother; Alvin Ringquist, Spencer, brother of the bride, served as groomsman; and Earl Hornick, Arlington, was ring bearer.

Rex Pickett, Loyal, and Raymond Potter, Wisconsin Rapids, brother-in-law of the bride, helped to seat guests in the church.

The mother of the bride wore a blue linen dress trimmed with pearls and rhinestones and she wore a corsage of pink and white carnations. Mrs. Powers wore a blue nylon frock with pink roses and white carnations. The grandmother of the bride was present in a purple dress with a corsage of white carnations.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Powers are graduates of Baraboo and Spencer High Schools. He is employed by the Del Monte Canning Company, Arlington.

Following a honeymoon in Illinois the young couple will live in Baraboo.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
