Andrews, Herbert C. (28 Nov. 1871 - 29 Oct. 1953)

Herbert C. Andrews, 81, died Thursday evening, October 29 at 7 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient for a week. He had been in failing health for the past month.

The body reposed at the Swarthout Funeral Home from Friday evening until 1 o’clock Saturday when it was taken to the church where funeral services were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Harvey Schall, pastor, officiated and burial was made in the West Spencer cemetery.

Theodore Domer, Unity, sang "God Understands" and "Beyond The Sunset" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. K. D. Graves.

Pallbearers were Everett Capes, Calvin Cook, Sewell Cook, Bernard Mabbot, Rudy Anderson, and Glen Shupe.

Mrs. Glen Shupe, Mrs. Calvin Cook, Mrs. Sewell Cook, Mrs. Rudy Anderson and Mrs. B. W. Mabbot were in charge of the flowers.

Mr. Andrews was born November 28, 1871 in the Town of Mitchell, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Andrews, and moved with his parents to Spencer in 1892. Since that time he had lived continuously on a farm one mile east of Spencer.

He was married June 1, 1896 to Miss Alice Plomer, who survives him. Other survivors are one son, Russell, at home; three daughters, Mrs. G. Wyman, (Ethel) Wausau; Mrs. John Roith, (Marlum) Harrisburg, Pa.; Mrs. Raymond Johnson, (Gertrude) Washington, D.C.; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence Driscoll, Spencer; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Andrews served as the Town Chairman and Assessor of the Town of Spencer in his earlier years and also served for many years as clerk for the Modern Woodmen of America, of which he was a member at the time of his death.

Wyman, and Elizabeth, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Wesley and Susan, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Ford, Mrs. Dale Ford and Mrs. Charles, Waldo; Mrs. Ben Juers, Mrs. Albert Butters, Mrs. Harvey Leibenstein and son Wesley, Cascade, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. James Walden and Mr. and Mrs. Heath Walden, New Lisbon, Wis.; Miss Jennie Clark, Spring Valley; Miss Rizpah Crowell, King; Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Capes, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Mabbot and Faith, Mr. and Mrs. Sewell Cook, Mr. and Mrs. George Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cook, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. John Zwielfelhofer and Walt Roith, Boyd; Mrs. W. W. Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Borth, Racine.
