Dorchester Man Victim of Car Accident Here

Milton G. Kronschnabl. 46-year old Dorchester rural mail carrier, died shortly after
midnight Sunday at Memorial hospital, Medford, of injuries received in a one-car accident
late Sunday afternoon southwest of Medford. Death was attributed to massive back
injuries.

The accident occurred, according to county authorities, at 5:55 o'clock while
Kronschnabl, alone in a 1969 model car, was traveling south on a town road 3½ miles
southwest of Medford. It was reported that he apparently turned out for a dog in the
roadway, losing control of the car which went off the left side, hitting a driveway and
ditch and then rolling four times into a field. The accident victim, Taylor county's
seventh fatality in 1969, was taken to the hospital by county ambulance. The vehicle is
considered a total wreck. Authorities reported that the man was not wearing a seat belt
at the time of the accident.

Funeral services for Mr. Kronschnabl will be held this morning at 11 o'clock at St. Louis
Catholic church, Dorchester. Rev. Gerald Schuh will officiate and burial will take place
in Dorchester Memorial cemetery. The body lay in state at Maurina funeral home,
Dorchester, from Wednesday afternoon, and a parish rosary was recited Wednesday evening.

Mr. Kronschnabl was born January 13, 1923, at Dorchester where he attended grade and high
schools. Prior to being a rural mail carrier out of Dorchester, Mr. Kronschnabl was
employed as bookkeeper at Mertens Garage. He was unmarried.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Kronschnabl was a former member of the Abbotsford National
Guard unit and a member of the Leach-Paulson American Legion post. He was a member of St.
Louis congregation, Holy Name society and served as a member of the Dorchester volunteer
fire department for 15 years.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Sarah Kronschnabl, two brothers, Max and Jerome, and
four sisters, Helen, Mrs. Karl Mertens, Miss Rose Kronschnabl, Mildred, Mrs. Clifford
Herman and Miss Ceal Kronschnabl, all of Dorchester. He was preceded in death by his
father, three brothers, and a sister.
