Kenneth Kanneberg (14 Feb 1922 – 9 Oct 1999)

Kenneth Kanneberg, 77, Colby, died Oct. 9, 1999 at his home. Funeral services were held Oct. 12, at Community Funeral Home, Colby. Interment was in Loyal City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Neumann presided.

Kenneth was born February 14, 1922, in Merrill, to Alfred and Mae (Severt) Kanneberg. He attended Merrill Schools. Kenneth and Dolores Meyer were married December 19, 1945 in Marshfield.

Kenneth was a sergeant in the Air Force 434 Troop Carrier Group during WWII, serving overseas in the European Theatre. He participated in the Normandy Invasion and completed 132 glider sorties. He was a rural mail carrier in Loyal for 31 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, a lifetime member of Loyal American Legion Post 175, Colby VFW Post 2227 and Disabled American Veterans.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dolores Kanneberg, Colby, his children, Ramona (Wayne) Samuelson, Chippewa Falls, Bill Kanneberg, Eau Claire, Bonnie (Bronson) Kanneberg, Sun Prarie, Keith (Lynn) Kanneburg, Colby, and Randy (Diane) Kanneberg, Mechesney, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
