Schultz, Barbara (08 Sept 1949-04 Mar 2013)

Barbara A. Schultz, 63, Colby died on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 23, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Dan Hackel will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m., until time of service.

Barbara Ann Rueth was born on Sept. 8, 1949, in Marshfield, the daughter of Sylvester D. and Dorothy E. (nee Frye) Rueth. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in Loyal, attending Loyal High School with the class of 1967. After high school Barbara attended beauty school in Eau Claire. She married Allen H. “Ollie” Schultz on April 8, 1972, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. They lived in the Wausau area for 18 years, moved to the Dorchester/Abbotsford area, and finally settled in Colby in the fall of 1996. Barbara ran her own day care for almost 25 years. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends, loved kids and babies, quilts, garage sales, shopping, long hair and cooking.

Barbara will be dearly missed by her husband, Allen “Ollie” Schultz, Colby; her daughters, Jacqui Fons-Schultz, Colby; Tobi (Jeremy) Snyder; Virginia Beach, Va., and Trista Love “Tawnee” (Dale “Brandon” Arnold) Schultz, Abbotsford; six grandchildren, Chelsa, Renny, Mercedes, Elizabeth, Christopher, and Quinten; one sister Mary (Joe) Weyer, Loyal; three brothers, Mike Rueth, Loyal, Bill (LuAnn) Rueth, Loyal, and Joe (Deb) Rueth, Neillsville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her dog, Scruffy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raphael, in infancy.
