Weetz, Florence Marie (6 May 1912 - 23 June 1951)

Mrs. Clarence J. Weetz of Abbotsford, the former Florence Marie Thorn of Colby, died at her home in Abbotsford at the age of 39 years Saturday at 9:35 P.M., a lingering illness being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford, Rev. Raymond Schultz officiating, and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Weetz was born in the town of Mayville, Clark county, on May 6, 1912. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s parochial school of Colby, the Colby High School and the Marathon County Normal School. She taught Marathon county rural schools for seven years and was married to Clarence J. Weetz in Colby, Wisconsin on January 31, 1941. Following their marriage the couple lived in Milwaukee for five years, returning to Abbotsford about four and one-half years ago.

Mrs. Weetz was a former president of the Parent-Teachers Association and was serving as vice president at that association at the time of her death. She was also a member of St. Bernard’s church choir, the Abbotsford Music Study and Choral Club, St. Bernard’s Altar Society and the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are her husband; a son, David, her mother, Mrs. Rose Thorn of Colby; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Elsie) Olstinski of Marshfield and Mrs. Francis (Clara) Stigler of Oconomowoc.
