UNITY, WIS. -- Marvin G. Carlson, 82, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his home with his family present.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Marvin G. Carlson

UNITY, WIS. -- Marvin George Carlson, 82, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, Wisconsin. Inurnment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Unity. The Rev. Dale Wilford will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marvin was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Unity to Gustave Albion and Myrtle Belle (Piper) Carlson. He graduated from Unity High School in 1943. Marvin and Esther Mabel Anderson were married June 1, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. He farmed his entire life, moving to his present farm in 1949.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He served on the church board, the cemetery board and was an usher for many years. He loved farming, family, traveling and bowling.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Esther of Marshfield; his children, Carla (Dan) Schwantes of Spencer, Philip (Delaine) Carlson of Marshfield, Sherry (Arthur) LaBar of Cookeville, Tenn., Patricia (Randy) Klimmer of Spencer, and Scott (Arla) Carlson of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Brett (Kimberly) Schwantes, Chad Schwantes, Jodi (Bill) Truchon, Ryan (Karoline) Schwantes, Julie (Nick) DeNardis, Nathan (Jeanna) Carlson, Brandon (Steph) Carlson, Anna (Timothy) Luecker, Andrew (Jennifer) LaBar, Jeremy Klimmer, Jonathon Klimmer, Jared Klimmer, Brittany Carlson and Lance Carlson; his great-grandchildren, James, Benjamin and Eleanor Schwantes, Lily and Daniel Truchon, Kage and Kolton Carlson, and Reagan Lueker; and two brothers, Dale (Carol) Carlson of Appleton and Wallace (Ann) Carlson of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clifford Carlson.

The family requests memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.
