Roohr, Archibal S. (10 Oct. 1911 - 21 May 1950)

Archibal S. Roohr, a former Colbyite, died at the Theda Clark Hospital at Neenah, Wisconsin, Sunday, May 21, as a result of injuries received at Guam where he had been employed by the Brown Pacific Construction Company who have been doing construction work for the U.S. Government. Funeral services were held at the Colby Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. F. J. Smith officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Lawrence Allmann, John Engeldinger, Art Grauman and Wayne Davis of Colby, Larry Kline of Waupaca and Malcolm Lamont of Abbotsford, Wis.

The deceased was born in the town of Beaver and moved to Colby, Wisconsin with his parents when two years of age. He attended the Colby Grade School and Colby High School, grew to manhood here and was well and favorably known in Colby and vicinity.

Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Jean, his mother, Mrs. Alma Roohr of Colby, and two sisters and two brothers - Mrs. John Schmidt of Owatonna, Minn., Mrs. Walter Hasler of Rantoul, Ill., Russell of Milwaukee and George of Logan, Ill.
