Syth, Alberta #2 (24 DEC 1942)

At a double ring ceremony at 7:30 on Christmas Eve in the First Methodist Church of Sioux Falls, S.D., Miss Alberta Syth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Syth of Greenwood, and Staff Sgt. Bernard A. Cunningham, Viroqua, exchanged their marriage vows with a background of organ music, Dr. Irving Putnam officiating.

The bride was attired in an aqua blue afternoon dress with a matching hat, and wearing a shoulder corsage of white orchids.

The bridal couple was attended by Miss Rosemary Janacek, Gillingham, Wis., cousin of the groom, and Staff Sgt. Jack Embree, Woodland Park, Colorado.

Preceding Lohengrin’s "Wedding March" which was played by Dorothy Ann Wheeler of Sioux Falls, Richard Finch, also of Sioux Falls sang, "O Promise Me," and "I Love Your Truly."

After the ceremony a reception was held in the Spanish Room of the Palace of Sweets. Among the guests was the groom’s mother, Mrs. Myrtle Cunningham of Viroqua.

After a short vacation in Sioux Falls, the bride will return to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) where she will resume her work as First Grade teacher. The groom will remain at Sioux Falls where he is on the Staff of the Army Air Forces Technical School.
