Wegner, Emma (13 JUN 1885 - 8 SEP 1942)

Mrs. Emma Wegner, a resident of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 15 years, died Tuesday evening at a Madison hospital of heart trouble. She was 57 years of age.

She was born at Spencer, Wis. June 13, 1885, and after her marriage lived on a farm near Loyal for four years. She and her husband then moved to Maplehurst where they resided for 22 years, and then she moved to Owen where she has since resided. Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death, and she is survived by Mrs. Hiram Proctor, Owen, a sister, Phillip Kissinger of Spencer, a brother, and her husband, Otto Wegner of Maplehurst, and one son, Eldon of Oshkosh. A daughter died in infancy.

Mrs. Wegner for the past 15 years had operated the White Way Hotel in Owen, and it was only about a month ago that she was forced to give up her business because of failing health.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) with Rev. W. Hotchkiss, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating, and burial will take place in the Spencer Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Forest Proctor, Harold Nichols, Oshkosh’ Ervin Nichols, St. Louis Park, Minn.; Harry Bender, Colby; Edward Hunjaeger, Withee and Lawrence Kissinger, Spencer.
