Kibbel, Christ (2 June 1889 - 3 July 1949)

Christ Kibbel died Sunday morning at the age of 60 years at the home of his brother in law, Theo. Gauger, at Marshfield, a heart ailment being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Mr. Kibbel was born in the town of Wien, Washington county, on June 2, 1889. He was married to Anna Gauger in Marshfield on Nov. 19, 1912. They lived in Abbotsford a number of years and in Colby while the Northwest Distributing Company was operating for which firm Kibbel worked.

Surviving are his widow and four daughters - Mrs. Herman Schneider of Colby, Mrs. Alex Poznanski of Greenwood, Mrs. Walter Mueller of Milan and Mrs. Ronald Glenzer of Curtiss. Also four brothers, Ed of Campbellsport, Gust of Spencer, Henry of Marshfield and Oscar of Marshfield; a sister, Anna Tribel of Milwaukee, and a step brother, Ed Menger of Port Washington.

Funeral services for Christ Kibbel, whose death was chronicled last week, were held Wednesday afternoon, July 6th, at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Mrs. Howard Gildernuch and Miss Joyce Gauger sang, "Old Rugged Cross," "Abide With Me" and "Asleep in Jesus." Mrs. Puhlmann accompanied them on the organ. Pall bearers were Alvin Gauger, Robert Gauger, Arthur Schultz, Duane Landwehr, Milam Kibbel and Lavern Kibbel. Flowers were in charge of Delores Pozwanski, Grace Landwehr, Betty Lois Machten and Ada Mae Gauger.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Edward Kibbel of Campbellsport, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kibbel of Port Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kibbel of Edgar, Mrs. Byron Becher and daughter of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Mansel and daughter of Miladore, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frolick and Miss Grace Landwehr of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nichels, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pomprian and Wm. Pomprian of Kohlsville, Mrs. Ervin Schmidt and daughter and Mrs. Edwin Abel and daughter of West Bend.
