Walz, Lolamay (Marriage - 18 June 1949)

Miss Lolamay Walz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert W. Walz of Madison, and Paul Henry Dalton of Chicago, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle J. Dalton of Madison and grand son of Mrs. Lena Eder of Colby, Wisconsin were married Saturday before an altar decked with palms and yellow and white gladioli. The ceremony held at 10 A.M. in St. Bernard’s church, Madison, was performed by Rev. Arnold Lehman.

A princess style gown of white Chantilly lace, with a train, was worn by the bride, who was given in marriage by her father. The gown featured a yoke accented with seed pearls, tiny buttons down to the double bustle, and long pointed sleeves. She wore a crown of seed pearls, to which was attached a lace-edged veil. White roses fashioned her bouquet.

Miss Agnes Endres, Minneapolis, a classmate of the bride while she was in nurse’s training, was her maid of honor. She wore a yellow marquisette gown with a scalloped bertha and similar scalloped effect over the hips. Her hat was a crown of yellow marquisette, and her bouquet was of daisies and yellow roses.

Another classmate, Mrs. John L. Bailey, Madison, was bridesmaid, in an identical ensemble.

The ring bearers were Richard Bosoid, cousin of the bride, and Ronnie O’Brien, cousin of the bridegroom, both wearing white suits and yellow neckties.

John Melsen, Milwaukee, a fraternity brother of the bridegroom, was his best man and Edward Walz, brother of the bride, was the usher.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Walz wore a carnation pink suit with grey accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a pascal cord suit in shades of rose, with brown and white accessories. They had corsages of Pinochhio roses and delphinium.

A breakfast for 35 guests was held at Richardson’s on the Fitchburg road. About 150 guests were present at the reception held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the bride’s home. Assisting were Miss Caryl Thousand, Mrs. Harvey Mraz, and Mrs. R. Jack Thurber, all of Madison and classmates of the bride.

A yellow suit and white accessories made up the bride’s costume for travel to northern Wisconsin.

After July 5, the couple will be at home at 6411 S. Kenwood, Chicago, where the bridegroom is associated with Mandel Bros. department store. He was graduated from the school of commerce at the University of Wisconsin in 1948, and is a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. The bride, a graduate of St. Mary’s nurses’ training school, is on the nursing staff of Chicago Clinics.
