Czech, Mary Ann (27 JUN 1942)

A beautiful June wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church Saturday, June 27th, 1942, when Mary Ann Czech became the bride of Albert Kodl, Jr.

The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was attired in a gown of sheer chiffon trimmed with lace, also a fingertip veil with a tiara of seeded pearls. Her bouquet was of white roses, gardenias, white iris and swansonia.

The matron of honor, Patricia Kolodziej, who is a cousin of the bride, was dressed in pink velour sheer organdy with a headdress to match.

Dorothy Czech, also a cousin of the bride, attended as bridesmaid. She wore a blue frosted sheer organdy gown with blue headdress to match. Other attending couple were Lorraine Szatalowicz with Edmund Grzegorzewski and Helen Kodl, sister of the groom, with Bernard Prokopiak. The girls were attired as the first bridesmaid and carried bouquets of carnations, peonies, roses and larkspur tied with pink satin ribbons. Their escorts wore tuxedoes with carnation boutonnieres, as did the best man, Stanley Cukla.

The flower girl, Florence Kolodziej, was dressed in a white organdy dress with a matching bonnet and carried a tiny colonial bouquet. Florian Szatalowicz, as ring bearers, was dressed in a tuxedo and carried a white heart shaped pillow with lace and satin ribbons.

In the solemn part of the ceremony the bride attended by the maid of honor, carried a white bouquet to the altar of the Virgin Mary.

The church was impressively decorated with white flowers on the main altar and colored peonies and larkspur on the side altars. The isl approaching the altar was covered with a white rug and decorated with palms.

The reception to the newly married couple was held at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp where dinner and supper was served and festivities continued throughout he day and evening.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Czech and the groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kodl, Sr., both of the town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), have a host of friends in the community who join in extending best wishes.
