Wegner, Marie (22 OCT 1866 - 26 JAN 1942)

Mrs. August Wegner, 75, of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Dudkiewicz at Green Bay Monday evening of old age infirmities. Funeral services will be held at Green Bay Thursday morning, Jan. 29th, and the body will be brought to the Bogumill Funeral Home at Thorp after the services. Burial will be made at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery at 2:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon. An obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. August Wegner, a former resident of Thorp, passed away of old age infirmities at her home at Green Bay on Monday, Jan. 26, 1942, having reached the age of 75 years, 3 months and 4 days.

Marie Kuczinski was born in Pomacze, Poland, on Oct. 22, 1866. She was united in marriage to Aug. Wegner there on Oct. 30, 1887 and four years later came to America. They resided in Chicago for several years before moving to Thorp and locating on a farm in the township of Withee where she lived until Nov. 1940, when they retired and moved to Green Bay.

She was the mother of a large family of ten children, all of whom are living, with the exception of one daughter, Agnes, who died in 1918. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Frank of Chicago, and John of Thorp; seven daughters, (Katie) Mrs. Joseph Wagner and (Frances) Mrs. Charles Chmel, of Chicago (Mary) Mrs. Louis Dudkiewicz, Green Bay, (Anne) Mrs. Max Druntz, Havey, Ill., (Martha) Mrs. Bruno Jarocki and (Estelle) Mrs. Ed V. Przybylski of Withee, and (Elizabeth) Mrs. Mike Kaminski of Thorp; one brother, Michael Kuczinski and two sisters of Poland, three cousins, Leonard and Paul Ferski of Muskegon, Mich., and August Ferski of Cleveland, Ohio; thirty-seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at St. Mary of Angels Catholic Church at Green Bay at nine o’clock on Thursday morning, Jan. 29th, Rev. Father Bonaventure officiating. The remains were brought to Thorp the same day and interment was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, serives being conducted by Father F.A. Kulig and Father Theo. Szczerbicki. Pallbearers were Jacob Niedzwiecki, Stephen Kaliszewski, Vincent Grzegorzowksi, John Broda, Martin Rogalsi and Frank Pietrzak Sr.
