Sonnenberg, Shirley Mae (Marriage - 29 May 1954)

Miss Shirley Sonnenberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Sonnenberg of Wisconsin Rapids, and Dale Walter Rindfleisch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rindfleisch of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in the First Baptist church in Stevens Point, Wisconsin Saturday, May 29, Rev. J. L. Pickett reading the marriage ceremony in a candlelight service, Mrs. Benita Held Blomiley of Stevens Point, organist, played the "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin" by Wagner as the processional and Mendelssohn’s "Wedding March" as the recessional. She accompanied Miss Carol Corliss of Ripon who sang, "Oh Promise Me" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a ballerina-length gown of white faille crepe featuring a fitted bodice with high neckline and stand-up collar and a bouffant skirt. Tiny buttons provided the trim on the bodice and the three-quarter-length sleeves. A bandeau of appliquéd daisies studded with pearls held her veil of French illusion and she carried a colonial bouquet of pink sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

The bride’s only attendant was Mrs. Robert Dott of Beaver Dam, sister of the groom, who was attired in a pastel-pink ripple-faille, a high neckline and short sleeves, and full gathered skirt. A miscellaneous shower was held for Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rindfleisch, who were recently married, last week Tuesday evening by neighbors, friends and relatives at the Walter Rindfleisch home, The evening was spent with music, singing, dancing, playing cards or just a friendly chat. Lunch was served late in the evening. Dale is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rindfleisch and at present is employed at his father’s cheese factory.
