Brehm, Anna (26 Feb. 1881 - 5 Apr. 1953)

Mrs. Alvin Brehm died at her home in the town of Hull Sunday at 6:00 P.M. at the age of 72 years after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Roland, Raymond, Ed, Otto, Melvin and Kenneth Brehm. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Harold Miller, Mrs. Harold Viergutz, Mrs. George Carr and Mrs. William E. Sachse.

Mrs. Brehm, the former Anna Kunze, was born on Febraury 26, 1881, in the town of Wilson, Sheboygan county, where she was married to Alvin Brehm on June 10, 1905. A few days after their marriage, they moved onto a farm in the town of Hull and lived on the farm since.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Elroy and Lester of Colby; three daughters, Mrs. Leona Smulan of Milwaukee, Mrs. Raymond (Madelyn) Gries of Colby and Mrs. Gordon (Irene) Ewald of Unity; thirteen grand children; two brothers, Otto of Sheboygan and William of Colby, Wis.

Mrs. Brehm was a faithful member of her church. She was not only faithful to her church, but just as faithful in believing that it was her duty to live up to teachings of her church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand - both in acts of kindness and in words - in time of need - not only at home and for neighbors and friends but also in all civic matters. Though she is gone, her record has been well made and will remain with her family, friends and neighbors as a lasting treasure.
