Krouse, Betty Jane (Marriage - 2 Oct. 1953)

Miss Betty Jean Krouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krouse of Dorchester, and Duane Robert Elstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Elstrom of Colby, Wisconsin were united in marriage Friday evening in St. Peter’s Lutheran church in Dorchester, Wis., Rev. F. H. Sprengler reading the services at the 8:00 o’clock ceremony. Miss Nancy Jane Larson of Duluth, Minn., served as maid of honor. Miss Shirley Elstrom of Colby, sister of the groom and Miss Arla Brecke of Stetsonville were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Richard Nunan of Minneapolis, brother-in-law of the bride, as best man and Donald Elstrom of Highland, Ill., and Charles Elstrom of Lake Forest, Ill., both brothers of the groom, as groomsmen. James Koski of Loyal, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Sharon Zimmerman, of Minneapolis, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

The bride was attired in a waltz-length net and lace over white satin gown. The bodice featured a Queen Anne neckline and long sleeves. Her finger-tip veil, lace-trimmed, fell from a bonnet of lace. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses and white baby mums. Satin, topped with net and lace, fashioned the waltz-length, strapless gowns selected by the bride’s three attendants. The maid of honor, in yellow, carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and white carnations. The bridesmaids, in green, carried colonial bouquets of green and white carnations.

Mrs. Krouse, mother of the bride, wore a blue dress accented with a corsage of red and white mums. The groom’s mother, dressed in navy blue, had a similar corsage. Their accessories were black.

A reception was held at the club house at Dorchester following the ceremony. The couple will live at Lake Forest, Ill.

Guests from out of the city were from Duluth, Minneapolis, Chicago, Chippewa Falls, Highwood and Lake Forest, Ill.

Present were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krueger and family of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mengel and family of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stahnke and daughter of Goodrich, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stahnke and daughter of Goodrich, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stahnke and family of Randolph, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Klempi and family of Curtiss, Sidney Dowson of Goodrich, Jerome Ebert and Miss Darlene Dawson of Columbus and Mrs. Frank Arndt of Wisconsin.

The couple will reside with the bride’s brother, Raymond Dawson of Colby, route 1.
