Baumgart, Susan (21 Aug. 1873 - 11 May 1952)

Mrs. Fred Baumgart, a former resident of Colby, died at Fond du Lac Sunday morning at the age of 77 years, a heart ailment of several months duration being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were W. F. Schwantes, A. W. Bruss, George Kobs, Walter Wiersig, Emil Pokallus, Otto Dins.

Susan Hopp was born in Germany on August 21, 1873, and came to the United States with her parents when a small child. She married Fred Baumgart in Colby, Wisconsin on May 27, 1893. He died December 12, 1941. For the past few years, Mrs. Baumgart had been living in Fond du Lac with her daughter, Mrs. Paul (Lucy) Monowski.

Besides her daughter in Fond du Lac, two other daughters and a son survive - Mrs. Karl (Anna) Koellermeier of Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Max (Lena) Prange of Fond du Lac and Otto Baumgart of Portland, Ore. Also surviving are six grand children, a brother, Ernest Hopp of Portland, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Schief and Mrs. Lena Wieland, both of Oregon City, Ore.
