Beck, Anthony J. #4 (21 MAR 1927 - 26 DEC 2007)

Anthony "Tony" Beck, 80, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at the Colonial Center, Colby, Wis. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, Wis. The Rev. Woodrow Pace officiated. Pallbearers were Scott Seeman, Ted Kralcik, Mike Kleparski, Dean Schilling and Scott Schilling.

Anthony Joseph Beck was born on March 21, 1927, in Dorchester, to Albert and Caroline (nee Hutter) Beck. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School. On May 30, 1950, he married Alice Marie Kleparski. She died on Feb. 19, 2006. They farmed in the town of Hull and he was also a Colby rural mail carrier. He was formerly employed with the Abbotsford Lamont Service Station, was in sales for the Catholic Family Life Insurance, and was a member of the Dorchester branch CFLI. He served as the treasurer of the town of Hull, was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and snowmobiler and enjoyed motorcycle touring with his wife and friends, and sharing good times playing his concertina in Tony’s Rhythm Band.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Daniel (Lynn) Beck, Phillips, Richard (Fran) Beck, Westminster, Colo., and Susan (Lance) Mews, Marshfield; three brothers, Albert Beck, Waukesha, James (Bernice) Beck, Stetsonville, and Myron (Betty) Beck, Stevens Point; two sisters, Beulah Poskie, Rhinelander, and Betty Marolt, Aspen, Colo.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Alice; one sister, Carolyn Hazen.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
