Kiraly, Agnes P. (26 October 1920 - 9 January 2008)

Agnes P. Kiraly, age 87, lifelong Stanley area resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Stanley, WI.

A Christian Burial Mass was held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, WI, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Friends and family called on Sunday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI, with a 7:30 Rosary being recited.

Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.

Agnes was born October 26, 1920, in Thorp, WI, the daughter of Fred & Mary (Lieske) Driessen. She grew up in the Thorp area and attended area schools. On September 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Louis Kiraly at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. They farmed for a number of years there before moving to Stanley in 1956.

Agnes worked at Victory Memorial Hospital and the Stanley Corporation until her retirement. Besides having a great love for her family she also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and was known for her baking. She was a long-time member of Holy Family Parish and St. Bernadette’s Circle and St. Clara’s Circle.

Agnes is survived by two sons: Kenneth of Chicago, IL and Ronald (Joan) of Oshkosh, WI; four daughters: Nancy (Joseph) Lazzara of Scottsdale, AZ, Arlene (Phil) Palomino, Janice and Joan Kiraly all of Chicago, IL; nine grand-children; three step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; one son, Keith; three sisters: Marie and Theresa Driessen & Delia Brooks; and seven brothers: John, Fred Jr., Edward, Sylvester, Ben, Philip, and Charles Driessen.
