Beyerl, Cecilia (Marriage - 5 June 1948)

On Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Miss Cecilia Beyerl of Milwaukee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beyerl, and William C. Rabehl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar H. Rabehl of Milwaukee, were united in marriage by the Rev. N. B. Beschta. The bride chose her parents’ 31st wedding anniversary as her wedding day.

Bouquets of red peonies and bridal wreath decorated the main altar of the church.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Seftar, of Milwaukee, brother in law and sister of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rabehl of Milwaukee, brother and sister in law of the groom.

The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin with fitted bodice and net yoke and full skirt ending in a train, which was trimmed with appliquéd flowers. Her finger-tip blusher veil was fastened to a headdress of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of red roses and lily of the valley. Her jewelry was a lavalier, which was worn by her mother on her wedding day. She also carried a rosary, a gift of the groom.

The maid of honor in blue and the bridesmaid in yellow wore identically styled gown of brocaded taffeta with sweetheart neckline, short sleeves and full skirts. Their bouquets and headdresses were of talisman roses.

Breakfast for the immediate family and dinner to about 50 relatives were served at St. Mary’s gym, which was decorated with yellow and blue streamers and bouquets of peonies and bridal wreath. A three-tiered wedding cake formed the wedding decoration.

The young couple are now on a wedding trip near Lake Chetek. The groom is a graduate of North Division high school at Milwaukee and also attended Marquette University. He is now employed as billing clerk by the Wisconsin Telephone Company. They will reside at 939 N. 13th street Milwaukee after June 14.

Relatives from out of town who attended the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Rabehl, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rabehl, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Blommer, and Mrs. Harvey Terhorst, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beyerl, Mentone, Calif.; Mrs. William Reusch and Mrs. Martin Jacobs, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Seftar, West Allis; Robert Beyerl, Milwaukee; and Miss Mary Beyerl, Chicago.
