Huhn, Elaine (Marriage - 17 Apr. 1948)

In a simple ceremony in the parsonage of Zion Lutheran church in Dorchester Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating, Miss Elaine Huhn, daughter of the Ferdinand Huhns of Milan, pledged wedding vows with LaVerne Daeke of Edgar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Daeke of Medford.

The bride had selected a trim gray suit, set off with white accessories, and a pretty shoulder corsage of red and white roses for the occasion. Her maid of honor, Miss Irene Huhn of Milan, a sister, was attired in an aqua suit with white accessories. Mrs. Donald Marquardt of Milwaukee, the groom’s sister, the bridesmaid, was attired in a tan tailleur with similar accessories. Both wore red roses and white carnations at their shoulder.

An uncle of the bride, Franklin Huhn of Colby, served as best man, and Donald Marquardt of Milwaukee, brother-in-law of the groom, was groomsman.

Following the ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s parents to 25 immediate relatives. The home was decorated with blue and white streamers. Later a wedding dance at Cherokee hall honored the couple.

The couple are now at home to friends on the groom’s farm at Edgar route 1.
