Voight, Emil (23 Dec 1893 - 21 Mar 1926)

OWNER OF SANITARY BAKERY SUCCUMBS TO PNEUMONIA

Emil Voight, proprietor of the Sanitary Bakery died very unexpectedly at ten minutes to twelve Sunday night, March 21st, as the result of a heart attack induced by pneumonia. Mr. Voight contracted influenza on Monday, March 15th. He suffered a relapse Wednesday and developed pneumonia Thursday. Death was not expected as the patient was bearing up very well with his illness. His family and friends were shocked by his sudden demise.

Mr. Voight was born in Athens, Wisconsin, December 23rd, 1893. He attended the schools of that city and entered the bakers profession when sixteen years of age. Following it since that time.

He married Miss Anna Tonn at Colby, Wisconsin, December 27, 1916. They moved to Antigo two years later when Mr. Voight established the Sanitary Bakery at the place.

Those left to mourn his death are his widow and two children, Virgil aged seven and Gwendolyn aged four, and his mother, Mrs. A Patitz, who lives in Curtiss. A daughter preceded him in death two years ago.

Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church at Antigo, Tuesday, March 23rd at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. E. R. Evans officiating. The Knights of Pythians conducted their funeral ritual at the Antigo service.

The remains were brought to Curtiss, Wisconsin, Wednesday, March 24th. Funeral services were held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational church at Curtiss. The Rev. Powell of Owen officiating and interment took place in the Norwegian cemetery.

Floral offerings were many and beautiful.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Amelia Patitz, Mr. Van Atter of Antigo, Wis., Mrs. Harold Schultz of St. Paul, Mr. Ed Patitz of Duluth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jensen of Reedsburg, Mr. Theodore Patitiz of Glidden, Miss Hattie Tonn of Oconomowoc, Mrs. And Mrs. Martin Nissen of Clifford, Mr. Herman Patitiz of Peaksville, Mr. and Mrs. Wm., Peters of Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Van Horn and daughter Fern of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zimmerman and sons of Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Archambo and Mr. and Mrs. George Patitz of Abbotsford, Wisconsin.
