Bruss, Anita Sidona (Marriage - 2 Aug. 1947)

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bruss of Colby announce the marriage of their daughter, Anita Sidona, of Milwaukee, to Mr. Gladwin G. Bock of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on August 2nd at 4 p.m. in an impressive candlelight ceremony at Faith Lutheran church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Rev. Frank Luley officiated at the double ring ceremony and was assisted by Rev. Arnold Beawer, brother-in-law of the bride, of Caldwell, Idaho. The church was decorated with bouquets of white gladiolas and the candelabra bearing lighted tapers. Organ selections were rendered preceding the ceremony with Mr. H. Klitzke presiding at the organ. The rober junior choir, of which the bride had been a director, sang "O Perfect Love" and after the exchange of vows they sang "The Lord Bless You and Keep You."

The bride, who approached the altar on the arm of her father, wore a gown of white satin with a full length train. The bodice of the gown was fitted and was fashioned with a net yoke and collar effect of satin. The flared and tapered peplum was edged in lace. Her full length veil of imported illusion was attached to a headpiece of orange blossoms and other cream colored florettes, which had been worn by her mother at her wedding about 45 years ago. White and cream colored roses and other white flowers and greens formed the bride’s bouquet.

Miss Rhoda Beawer of Caldwell, Idaho, a niece of the bride, attended the bride as maid of honor, wearing a gown of sheer white marquisette fashioned with a fitted bodice and a full skirt with a ruffle around the bottom, forming a bustle effect in back. She wore long white marquisette gauntlets and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and assorted white flowers with yellow net interwoven throughout. Her coronet styled headband was of yellow net, similar to the net in her bouquet.

Mrs. Myra Harder of Milwaukee, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid and she wore a white marquisette gown similar to the maid of honor’s. Her bouquet consisted of yellow and pink roses with assorted white flowers and interwoven with green net. Her headband was of matching green net.

The little flower girl was Miss Patricia Ann Nesbitt of Green Bay, niece of the groom. Her gown was identical to the other attendant’s and her headband was of white net. Her colonial bouquet consisted of yellow and white roses with white net interwoven in the bouquet.

Mr. Elroy Bruss of Colby, brother of the bride, was the best man, and Mr. Ed Harder of Milwaukee was the usher. Mr. Ray Nesbitt of Green Bay also assisted in ushering. The men wore white coats and black trousers.

Following the ceremony a dinner was served for the members of the immediate family and the intimate friends. In the evening a reception was held between the hours of 8 and 10 p.m. at the Studios for over 100 guests.

For her going away costume the bride wore a gray gabardine suit with black accessories. The couple flew to Amarillo, Texas, where they will make their home.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and the Spencerian College at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
