Vetrovec, Mary (2 Feb. 1868 - 20 Aug. 1946)

Mrs. Mary Vetrovec of Colby died Tuesday morning at 2:30 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls. A rosary will be said at the Lulloff Funeral Home, where the body is lying in state, this Thursday evening at 8:30. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Friday morning at 9:30, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating.

Mrs. Vetrovec, nee Mary Velek, was born in Czechoslovakia on Feb. 2, 1868, and came to this country when 26 years of age, residing in Chicago where she married Vincent Vetrovec a few years later. They came to this community 52 years ago and operated a farm near Cherokee until 1932 when they moved to Colby, Wisconsin. Mr. Vetrovec died about 10 years ago. They had no children.

Mrs. Vetrovec was a good Christian, honest in all her dealings, always endeavoring to do her duty as she saw it, and, like all the early pioneers, was of a congenial disposition.
